East Fork Walleye Club

East Fork Walleye Club The Algona Walleye Club was started in 1996 with around 10 people and the Izaak Walton League. Many fingerlings were harvested by seining the pond.

They were given permission by the Iowa DNR to raise fry and put them into the East Fork of the Des Moines River. The first year they put 100,000 fry into Leo Elmore’s sterile pond. In 2004, a new pond near Burt, Iowa was acquired for use by the club. This is our 16th year of raising walleyes for the East Fork of the Des Moines River.

Hello EFWC followers. We are looking forward to our 30th anniversary next year! In honor of 30 years, we are asking everyone for ideas for a new logo. If you have any thoughts about a new design and would like to submit a drawing, idea, or suggestion, send it to me at [email protected], or text me at 515-368-3471. Include your name, address, and phone number. All entries will be voted on by July 30th with the winner announced on our page. Let your kids know as well and submit their ideas. We'd love to see some of their creative thoughts too!
