Congratulations to Arissa Kirchman, recipient of the 2020 Muskrat City Sportsman's Club Scholarship!

A message from Arissa:
"Next year I am planning to attend UW-Platteville to major in civil engineering with an emphasis in transportation while also minoring in both environmental science and Spanish.

Even though I will be four hours from home I know I will have many people here supporting me. Among these people are my family, friends, past teachers, and the members of the AECF and the Muskrat City Sportsman's Club.

I intend to keep in touch with all of these people who have helped me through my life thus far and I also plan to keep giving back to the community especially by encouraging STEM careers among youth. I greatly appreciate being awarded this scholarship and everyone who has made it possible!"

Congratulations to Marie Prodell, recipient of the 2020 James R. Blahnik Agricultural Scholarship!

A message from Marie:
"My name is Marie Prodell, and I am a senior at Algoma High School. Throughout my high school career I was involved in many agricultural related organizations like 4-H, FFA, Wisconsin Hereford Association, Wisconsin Jr. Hereford Association Board, and Wisconsin Hereford Royalty Program.

Through all of my agricultural experiences I have learned about leadership and the different areas within agriculture. Some areas that I am most involved with would be showing my Hereford cattle around the United States and educating youth about showing cattle. These are areas that I am very passionate about and helped encouraged me to start my own business, MKP Show Cattle.

Next year, I will be attending UW-River Falls with a major in Ag Business and a Minor in animal science, where I hope to learn more about how to build my business and keep making positive impacts in agricultural and the showing world."

"I am very honored and grateful to receive this scholarship on behalf of Normal Mueller and Marge Curtin. I would like to give a huge thank you to the family and the Algoma Education Capital Fund for supporting my next journey in life.

This coming fall I will be attending the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire to pursue a degree in Social Studies Education.
