Weekend Camping: Cole Canoe Base can offer your unit the ultimate camping experience all year long. We have several tent camp sites and one heated cabin for your enjoyment. Summer Camp: Cole Canoe Base offers one of the best summer camp experiences in the Boy Scouts of America. We have a highly trained staff, several impressive program areas and a number of popular camp wide programs. We are a pat

rol cooking camp, this means that each troop cooks their own meals, the way it was meant to be! (we provide the food). Program Areas:

Aquatics: Bosco Lake is home to our aquatics area, offering not only swimming and canoeing, but also more advanced activities such as life saving, sailing, SCUBA diving and much more. Cosgro Production Co.: This is perhaps our most unique program area, working with multi-media merit badges and activities. Main Street USA: Our newest program area offers several merit badges: citizenship in the community, nation and world to name a few. This is a great program for adult leaders to give back to the camp and volunteers to teach a merit badge class. Crafts: Recently expanded, out crafts area is one of the best around! Eco-Con: Cole Canoe Base boasts having one of the best ecology and conservation centers in all of scouting. Featuring a number educational resources, live displays and native mounts including a Bald Eagle, be sure to spend some time at Eco-Con! Outdoor Skills:Recently expanded, Outdoor Skills is our "Scout Craft" area. It also features a human foosball court, volleyball/badminton area, basketball and indian village! First Year Camper Program: The perfect way to integrate "new scouts" into the world of Boy Scout Summer Camp! Climbing: Our climbing program is second to none! Featuring a 200 foot zip-line off of our 35 foot tower! Shooting Sports: Cole canoe base has an extensive shooting sports team, weather you'd like to shoot the .22 rifles or the 12 gauge shot guns. On you way to the shotgun range, be sure to drop by archery and try out a bow. If you'r still not satisfied schedule some time at the high powered range and shoot the pistols, or our Re*****on 308's (Venturing Only). All 4 of our shooting ranges are open for "Troop/ Crew Shoots". Be sure to ask our staff about the DNR Hunters Safety class. High Adventure: Our High Adventure Program is one of the best around! With canoe trips ranging from 5.5 to over 100 miles, we work on 4 of Michigan's beautiful rivers. Take a 50 mile hike around "Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore" or try our newest program the "Hike, Bike, Float". Our River Program offers a variety of day trips to everyone in camp. Try a canoe or kayak on one of our Rifle River day trips, ranging in skill and ability level. Looking for an adrenaline rush? Check out the Pipeline Rapids! or perhaps you want to relax, sit back and kick your feet up on an inner tube for a "Rump Bump"! Our High adventure program is also home to our ATV Training program and DNR Boaters Safety Course. Other: River Store (Trading Post), Health Lodge, Rangers Shop and More! Cole Canoe Base also has a strong Venturing program full of advancement and high adventure opportunities. Camp Wide Programs: There are several camp wide programs or events at CCB Summer Camp, the highlights are below! Camp Wide Flag Retreats: The CCB Color Guard "The A-Team" maintains a tradition of one of the most unique flag retreats in the BSA every Sunday, Thursday and Friday evening. Featuring 2 blasts from the cannon! Beast Feast: If you like food, you'll love the Beast Feast. This camp wide cooking contest and demonstration has been a favorite for years. Crafts on Fire: Crafts competitions, activities and a real party on Monday night! Vespers: Just one of our multiple religious services, in one of the most beautiful chapels in the BSA. A Scout is Reverent! L.O.S.T.: Legendary Outdoor Survival Tournament at Outdoor Skills! Geo-Pardy: Show off your nature knowledge at Eco-Con

Lumberjack Festival: Pay tribute to Michigans logging heritage and take place in the Lumberjack Relay race around Bosco Lake, muzzle loaders, throw a tomahawk or try you luck on the crosscut saws! River Rat Rodeo: CCB's "water carnival" featuring canoe tug-o-wars, rely competitions, and the one of a kind "War Canoe Race"

Closing Camp Fire: Our Friday night campfire is legendary, concluding with a live retirement of the "Stars and Stripes", a slideshow from the week and of course fireworks over Bosco Lake. You will never forget it! NOTE: To CCB Staff, Area Directors, and Management. If you have anything about your program you would like included on this page, send us a message or contact Venture 1 directly.

April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month!
With warmer weather and more travel ahead, itโ€™s a great time to talk about staying focused behind the wheel โ€” for Scouts, families, and leaders alike. Distracted driving remains one of the most preventable causes of crashes, and awareness can save lives.

Letโ€™s all commit to keeping our eyes on the road and minds on the mission of arriving safely!
