June is 🫂

Nearly 20% of American adult men - that’s around 24.6 million people - experienced a mental health condition over the last year. And yet, many men resist seeking treatment because of stigma.

In 2025, we found that men who took a mental health test on MHA Screening were two times less likely than women to ask for help. This Men’s Mental Health Month, we’re here to remind men that asking for help isn’t a weakness; it takes incredible strength.

We all have mental health. Check in with yours today at mhascreening.org.

If you or someone you know is struggling or in crisis, call or text 988 or chat 988lifeline.org. You can also reach Crisis Text Line by texting HELLO to 741741.

Today is the International Day of Action for Women’s Health.

Because of societal pressures on women to “have it all,” it’s no surprise that feelings of embarrassment or shame often keep them from seeking treatment, especially for conditions like depression.

Certain types of depression are unique to women, depending on their stage of life, like premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), postpartum depression, and perimenopausal depression.

The most important thing to remember is that you are not alone. Depression is treatable, and you deserve to heal.

MHA’s Women’s Mental Health Resource Center is here to help you navigate your mental health through every stage of life. Visit mhanational.org/women to find the support you need.

If you’ve been experiencing symptoms of depression, take a free, confidential online mental health screening at mhanational.org.
