Our Freedom Rocks are a colorful reminder of the joy that made the Laurel Grove School Museum Juneteenth celebration so special. Each rock represents a unique expression of freedom and hope —and now they’ll welcome visitors as they enter the Laurel Grove School Museum.

We were equally inspired by the heartfelt messages shared on our Memory Quilt. Stay tuned as we transform them into a lasting keepsake that captures the spirit of this unforgettable event.

The Laurel Grove School Museum is deeply grateful to everyone who took part in the school's inaugural Juneteenth celebration. Particular thanks are due to Cai and Charleigh Thorpe from Girls Scout troop #52048 and Cameron Thorpe from Girls Scout troop #4425, whose initiative led to the hosting of the Juneteenth celebration and who carefully planned all activities for the young participants. The event was truly remarkable!
