✨ **Messier 27 — The Dumbbell Nebula (NGC 6853)** ✨
Located in the constellation **Vulpecula**, this planetary nebula lies approximately 1,360 light-years away. What we're witnessing is a star nearing the end of its life, shedding its outer layers of hydrogen and oxygen as it leaves behind a stellar remnant known as a white dwarf. This incredible structure stretches roughly 1.1 light-years from end to end!
🚀 **Here's a little cosmic perspective!**
At its peak, NASA's Artemis II spacecraft was expected to travel at approximately 24,500 mph. At that speed, it would take roughly **37.2 million years** to cover the distance to M27! Talk about a road trip!

Six hours of integration under Bortle 9 skies is a start, but there's more data to collect! I'll be adding to this image as soon as I can get out to my nearest dark-sky park. I'm looking forward to seeing how much more detail I can pull out of this beautiful planetary nebula.
