THANK YOU, RAPIDES PARISH!
We would like to sincerely thank everyone for the overwhelming response to the Cenla Community Action Committee Inc.'s Rapides Road to Work Driver Education Program.

Today alone, we filled 80 appointment slots for the program. We are incredibly grateful for the community’s interest and support for this initiative.

At this time, all currently available appointment slots have been filled. We will now begin the process of working through the scheduled appointments and completing the eligibility review process for applicants.

While all current appointment slots have been filled, we are beginning a waitlist for families interested in being contacted should additional openings become available. To be added to this list, you must call the Rapides Road to Work appointment line at 318-314-3473.

Once eligibility determinations are completed, additional appointment opportunities may become available depending on program capacity and available funding.

We encourage families to continue following our page for future updates and announcements regarding possible additional appointment openings.

We truly appreciate your patience and support as we work to help local youth gain access to opportunities that promote independence, employment, and success.

Thank you again for your continued support!

Please note a couple of important clarifications regarding this LIHEAP outreach event:

• This outreach is specifically intended for residents in the northern part of the parish. This effort supports our compliance mandate to ensure rural communities have access to services and assistance opportunities.

• If you have already applied for assistance on or after April 13, 2026, you will not be eligible to participate in this outreach, as it utilizes the same funding source.

We appreciate your understanding as we work to ensure services are distributed fairly and in accordance with program guidelines.

🚨 SCAM ALERT – PLEASE READ & SHARE 🚨

We have been made aware of scammers pretending to offer utility bill assistance through fake LIHEAP/social media posts and messages. This is the third time that we have encountered this from a potential client. This particular client was asked to provide her log in information so that the scammer could gain access to her utility account.

These scammers request that you to send them part of the amount you owe, claiming they will pay the rest of your utility bill. This particular client was asked to provide her log in information so that the scammer could gain access to her utility account. Later, the payment/check was returned, leaving her responsible for the full amount and possible disconnect/reconnect fees.

⚠️ NO LEGITIMATE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM WILL EVER ASK YOU FOR MONEY. ⚠️

Please remember:
✅ Never send money through Cash App, Venmo, PayPal, gift cards, or other payment apps to receive assistance.
✅ Legitimate assistance programs work directly with utility companies or approved agencies.
✅ Always verify assistance programs through official local agencies or government websites.

If you are unsure whether a program is legitimate, contact our office before providing personal information or sending money.

Please share this post to help protect our community from scams. 💙
