Join us in honoring Bolton 🐻 Bear, Robert Beall “Buddy” Tudor, Jr., Class of 1953!

Robert Beall “Buddy” Tudor, Jr., born May 18, 1935, in Pineville, Louisiana, was a standout student-athlete at Bolton High School, excelling in both basketball and tennis while earning academic honors and serving in student leadership. He continued his success at LSU, where he majored in engineering, lettered in tennis all four years, and captained the team. His achievements extended beyond athletics, earning recognition in national honor societies and distinction through ROTC as a Distinguished Military Graduate, leading to his commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army.

After his military service, Buddy returned home to join Tudor Construction Company, continuing a family legacy and helping grow the business into a major force in Central Louisiana. He later expanded operations by founding Tudor Enterprises, contributing to the development and management of numerous landmark properties in Alexandria. His leadership and vision left a lasting imprint on the region’s built environment.

Deeply committed to his community, Buddy served on numerous boards and was widely recognized for his civic contributions and historic preservation efforts, including work on the Hotel Bentley and the Diamond Grill. Among many honors, he was named Outstanding Young Man of the Year for Central Louisiana and received both state and national preservation awards. Buddy passed away on March 14, 2010, and is remembered for his leadership, service, and devotion to family and community.

Join us in honoring Bolton 🐻 Bear, Edward G. “Ned” Randolph,Jr., Class of 1960!

Edward G. “Ned” Randolph, Jr. (1942–2016) was a lifelong public servant from Central Louisiana whose leadership left a lasting mark on Alexandria. A graduate of Princeton University and Tulane Law School, he began his legal career in New Orleans before returning home to serve his community. An Eagle Scout honored with the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award, he also served in the Air Force Reserves and the Louisiana National Guard’s JAG Corps. Randolph was elected to the Louisiana legislature, serving as both Representative and State Senator before becoming mayor.

As mayor of Alexandria from 1986 to 2006, Randolph guided the city through a period of major transformation. He championed infrastructure improvements, downtown revitalization, and the growth of arts and cultural institutions, including the Randolph Riverfront Center and Alexandria’s levee and amphitheater. He played a key role in routing Interstate 49 through downtown and helped expand the Alexandria Zoological Park while supporting the establishment of Louisiana’s first African American museum. His leadership earned Alexandria recognition as an “All America City” in 1994.

One of Randolph’s most notable achievements was leading the successful transition of England Air Force Base into a thriving civilian airpark after its closure, a model praised nationally by Bill Clinton. Over his career, he received numerous awards for civic leadership and community impact. Remembered for his dedication and vision, Randolph’s legacy continues through the institutions he helped build and the city he helped reshape.
