Great healthcare needs quality care - and a culture that trusts it.
At Indo US Hospital in Hyderabad, Telengana, we saw both.
Dr Dilara Sayeed recently traveled to India to work with our partners serving families across the nation…
The Mini-Ambulance.
It's the size of a minivan. We asked what a full-size ambulance would cost.
Mr. Azharuddin responded:
"We don't want one. This has all the equipment of a large ambulance, and its size lets us reach patients living on tiny streets across this city. Fund more, and we'll buy another mini!"
The Mammogram Machine.
Early screening saves lives, so we applauded the initiative. Mr. Azharuddin responded:
"The machine is a powerful tool, but we don't do half as many mammograms as we should. The culture doesn't see screenings as valuable."
Getting the right equipment is half the work.
Building community trust is the other half.
If only Aishwarya Rai or Shahrukh Khan would make mammograms a household conversation!
Thank you Mr. Shahabuddin, Mr. Azharuddin, Director Akalvi, Humera Hai, Sania Khan, and team for our partnership. We will strive towards stronger community education, and acquiring more needed ambulances and equipment.
