Our season with Popcorn Machine has finally come to a close. As many of you know, Team 614 earned our place to compete at the FIRST World Championship for the first time since 2019.
After arriving in Houston, Texas Monday night, we spent Tuesday at Space Center Houston exploring and learning all about what NASA does at the Johnson Space Center. We also celebrated a team member's birthday!
On Wednesday, we went to the George R. Brown Center to explore the Innovation Faire, the other programs, and to set up our pit. We worked to organize a WestCoast Products & Design LLC photo, which was so much fun! We then closed out the day with a FIRST Chesapeake group photo and dinner with the Little Apple Cyborgs.
Thursday and Friday were filled with qualifications matches on the Galileo Division. The competition was fierce as there were so many good teams from across the world. Thursday night we were invited to a dinner with one of our sponsors, RTX , and Friday night we braved the rain to run back to the hotel to celebrate another team member's birthday.
On Saturday, we started the day with the alliance selection, being picked as the 4th robot on the 3rd Alliance, with our captain 1506 , and other alliance partners 449 and 484. We were so proud to be a part of the 3rd place alliance on our field, and can't thank our alliance partners enough for their trust in us!
This was an amazing competition to end REBUILT with, and we couldn’t be more grateful. Thanks to all of our students, especially our seniors, for bringing us to where we are and look forward to competing in BIOCORE next year!
