🎬 GSEA Champions Archive | Day 4
In 2023, David Hodgson took home the GSEA Global Champion title with Hollo Medical, a startup reimagining respiratory care and improving the lives of patients around the world.

What started as a student venture became a mission-driven company tackling real healthcare challenges through innovation, determination, and entrepreneurial thinking.

David’s story is a reminder that some of the world’s most impactful companies start long before graduation.

As we celebrate 20 years of GSEA under EO’s stewardship, we’re proud to shine a spotlight on the founders who dared to build while they studied.

Who should we feature next from the GSEA archives? 👇

Day 3 | GSEA Champions Archive 🎬

Before she was transforming one of the world’s biggest industries, Daniela Blanco was just a little girl in Venezuela with a simple dream:
“I want to do science... the kind of science that helps people.”

Years later, that dream became reality.

As the 2019 GSEA Global Champion, Daniela took the stage with a story of resilience, purpose, and innovation—sharing her vision to reinvent the chemical industry through cleaner, safer, and more sustainable technology.

From leaving her home country to pursuing a PhD in the United States, Daniela proved that entrepreneurship isn’t just about building companies. It’s about solving problems that matter and creating a better future for the generations that follow.

Today, her story continues to inspire student entrepreneurs around the world to dream bigger, challenge the status quo, and turn purpose into action.

This is GSEA Champions Archive—celebrating 20 years of GSEA under EO’s stewardship and the founders who dared to build what the world needed.

DAY 2 | GSEA CHAMPIONS ARCHIVE 📚🏆

Some entrepreneurs build apps. Some build marketplaces.

Nick Cotter built a smarter future for farming. 🌱

🏆 In 2022, Nick Cotter from Ireland became the GSEA Global Champion with Cotter Agritech, a startup he co-founded with his brother Jack to solve one of agriculture’s biggest challenges.

Their innovation, SmartWorm, gives livestock farmers a smarter, more cost-effective way to manage animal health—improving productivity while reducing environmental impact.

Because the best ideas don‘t always come from Silicon Valley. Sometimes, they come from the fields.

This is GSEA Champions Archive, celebrating 20 years of GSEA under EO’s stewardship and the student entrepreneurs who dared to solve real-world problems.

Tomorrow, we‘ll open another chapter.

🎬 Every global company starts with one small idea.

Almost two decades ago, a teenager in Scotland learned how to make jam from his grandmother.

A few jars sold to neighbors turned into SuperJam, millions of jars sold worldwide, an MBE for services to business, bestselling books, and multiple successful ventures.

But before all of that, Fraser Doherty was a student entrepreneur.

As we celebrate 20 Years of GSEA under EO’s stewardship, we’re opening the archives and revisiting the stories of the founders who dared to start early—and went on to build businesses that changed industries and communities.

Before Brendan Ciecko became the CEO of a global tech company serving institutions like The British Museum and The White House… he was a teenager designing websites for punk bands from his bedroom in Massachusetts.

In 2007, Brendan competed at GSEA as an 18-year-old founder searching for direction, mentorship, and community. What he found through GSEA and EO would shape the next two decades of his entrepreneurial journey.

As we celebrate 20 years of GSEA under EO’s stewardship, we’re revisiting the stories of founders whose journeys started here.

Read Brendan’s full story now on the EO Blog.

Twenty years ago, Entrepreneurs' Organization took stewardship of a program dedicated to empowering student entrepreneurs around the world.

Since then, GSEA has grown into a global platform where students become founders, founders become leaders, and mentorship continues to move entrepreneurship forward across generations.

Today, we proudly celebrate the program that was Built to Inspire and the 20 years of mentorship and empowerment in motion.

This anniversary is a celebration of every EO member, mentor, judge, chair, alum, partner, and student who helped shape the journey over the past two decades. Your support, guidance, and belief in the next generation continue to create impact far beyond the competition stage.

Thank you for building, mentoring, empowering — and continuing to inspire what comes next. 🚀

Last week, we wrapped the 2026 GSEA APAC / North Asia / Japan Regionals hosted by EO Sydney — bringing together 12 outstanding student entrepreneurs representing 7 countries across the super-region. 🌏

After an incredibly competitive day, our distinguished judging panel — all seasoned entrepreneurs and members of Entrepreneurs Organization — selected 4 founders who will now advance to the Global Semifinals in Cape Town, South Africa.

We’re especially proud that just two years after reintroducing the competition to Australia, EO Sydney hosted the Regionals and welcomed student founders into the local EO community through a special networking event with members. These moments of connection between emerging and established entrepreneurs are what make GSEA so impactful — and this is only the beginning.

We’re excited to continue growing the competition across the region and look forward to seeing even more chapters and student founders involved next year.

A heartfelt thank you to all members, judges, volunteers, partners, and supporters who helped make this event such a success. ✨

A shoutout to our Ecosystem Partner at Stone & Chalk , where we held the event. Stone & Chalk is a purpose-driven, not-for-profit helping founders go further, faster - through access to workspace, experts, investors, corporate partners, government and each other.

Your face unlocks your world — but what if it could be faked? 🔐🤖

Jaejun Park from Korea, winner of EO Korea, is solving that with Teramime — an AI security company building next-generation liveness protection for facial authentication. By analyzing subtle lip and lower-face movement patterns that are nearly impossible to replicate, Teramime helps stop deepfake, replay, and synthetic identity attacks in real time. ⚡

Because in the age of AI, trust needs a smarter layer of security. 🚀
