📣 Calling all researchers and advocates! Join Research!America for a webinar on Tuesday, Aug. 11 at 1:30 p.m. ET. Instead of our usual discussion, we're doing something different: an interactive advocacy training and phonebank focused on contacting members of Congress about the Office of Management and Budget's (OMB) proposed rule, "Regulation for Federal Financial Assistance." This rule could upend how federal research gets funded, from grant terminations to political interference in merit review.

Whether you're new to advocacy, looking to sharpen your skills, or just want some dedicated time to do outreach with others, this session is for you. We will be joined by Erin Darbouze, MPH, who will share practical tips and tricks for effective in-district advocacy, with plenty of time for your questions. 🚨 Your voice is needed.

A proposed federal rule could fundamentally change how research grants are awarded, managed, and even terminated. The changes could politicize the grant review process, increase administrative burdens, limit international collaboration, and restrict how federal research funds are used.

PAA has submitted comments to the U.S. Office of Management and Budget—but now Congress needs to hear from researchers, educators, and advocates.
