The future of demography starts here.

PAA’s Undergraduate Pipeline Program (UPP) connects undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds with mentors, research opportunities, and a pathway to graduate study. In just two days, participants engage with leading scholars, explore the PAA Annual Meeting, and build lasting connections.

Since launching, 53 students have gone on to graduate programs, research roles, and impactful careers across fields like public policy, data science, and healthcare.

Now, we need your support to keep this momentum going.
Donations to the PAA Futures Fund help cover student meals and travel—making participation possible for more students.

Our community made a difference before—and we can do it again.

During FY 2026, advocacy helped stop major cuts to federal research agencies. Now Congress is shaping FY 2027 funding.

Make your voice heard. 📣 Contact your Members of Congress to urge they prioritize funding in FY 2027 for research and statistics by supporting robust funding for the National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation, Census Bureau, National Center for Health Statistics, and other agencies that directly and indirectly support the population sciences.
