Leading Like a Lady Blog

Leading Like a Lady Blog A not-for-profit newsroom and platform for women of the African diaspora. This is the primary cause we support.

Leading Like a Lady Blog has a mission to provide affirming advice and a platform for women of the African diaspora feeling insecure about their status in life, by producing educational documentaries, books, online media, and digital services. Black and African women are often underrepresented or silenced when decisions directly impacting their lives are made. In an age increasingly driven by publ

ic discourse via social and digital media, we believe it's important for "ordinary" women to instigate the extraordinary change they wish to see in politics, culture, and their personal lives. Our goals:
- increase the number of Black women/women of the African diaspora earning equitable wages
- increase the positive visibility of Black women/women of the African diaspora in media and publishing
- build the network capital, and academic + career competencies of Black women/women of the African diaspora

This post nearly broke me.

I interviewed Israa, who has worked tirelessly to save lives in Gaza, especially the lives of women and girls lacking adequate menstrual care. Now she's safe in Liverpool, pursuing a PhD in sexual and reproductive health.

I hope we understand what it takes to survive in spite of a world conspiring to eradicate you.

I hope stories like these are marked in history books, so that future generations remember to prioritize humanity over everything. โค ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ธ
