ALIVE ALIVE! is the largest private safety net in Alexandria, providing food access, housing stability, and emergency financial assistance to neighbors in need.

is the oldest and largest private safety net in the City of Alexandria, VA dedicated to fighting poverty and hunger. An interfaith nonprofit organization founded in 1969, ALIVE! has 50 member congregations. We are also supported by the City of Alexandria, local organizations and businesses, and volunteers.

A huge thank you to the Corcoran McEnearney Group for volunteering at our Food Distribution with the Department of Community & Human Services! Their team played an important role in helping us serve more than 100 families, ensuring our neighbors had access to fresh, nutritious food.

In addition to volunteering, they organized a month-long food drive throughout July, collecting donations to further support ALIVE!’s mission. Their generosity and commitment to our community are truly appreciated.

We are incredibly thankful for our community partners like the Corcoran McEnearney Group who make a lasting impact through both service and philanthropy.

A bed can change everything. This month, ALIVE! volunteers delivered furniture to families across Alexandria, including beds for neighbors who previously had no place to sleep. Through our Furniture Program, simple acts of service help transform empty spaces into comfortable, welcoming homes.

Thank you to ALIVE! Member Congregations Agudas Achim Congregation, Alexandria Baha'i Center, Fairlington United Methodist Church, Hill City Church, and St. Paul's Episcopal Church for helping us this month with furniture deliveries.
