The Alexandria Lions Club is a civic club located in Alexandria, Louisiana. Lunch is served while we conduct our meetings.

Club Information:

As a volunteer organization, the Alexandria Lions Club believes that a small amount of work by a large number of members can create a great deal of good for our local community and our world. The Alexandria Lions Club meets Wednesdays at noon at the Brocato’s Restaurant on Coliseum Boulevard. Speakers are invited each week to inform the club about the community events and servic

es available within our community. The club has social activities that include a Holiday Gala and an Installation Banquet. Members are also invited to attend District, State, and International Lions Club conventions. Club membership costs are $50 per month, billed quarterly, which includes meals and club, state, and international dues. Many companies and businesses will reimburse their employees for membership in the Alexandria Lions Club.

Happening this Thursday! 🎉 This fun, free, and family-friendly event is open to the public to promote viaion awareness and inclusion. Children will complete 6 missions to earn a prize bag at the end of the night. We will also have an eyeglass recycling drive and offer vision screenings to all.

We want to say a special THANK YOU to soon-to-be Lion Angela Blackman who made an incredibly generous donation of several boxes full of new toys and multiple sizes of Champion hoodies for our Wrapped in Warmth & Wonder drive benefitting the Fostering Community. If you have any donations for this project you may drop them off First Guaranty Bank on Metro Drive 8:30am-4:30pm Monday-Friday until October 15th.

If you missed yesterday's meeting, Casey Watson Jenkins with Heart of Hospice LLC was our speaker and she shared that anyone can make a referral for a hospice evaluation. She spoke on the common misconceptions about hospice and how some people graduate from the program with proper medicine management and care.

💙💛 Country music legend and philanthropist Dolly Parton was a Melvin Jones Fellow! 💛💙

The Melvin Jones Fellowship is a recognition associated with Lions Clubs International Foundation and honors a commitment to humanitarian service. Dolly Parton has spent decades making a difference in the lives of others. Through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, 📚❤️ millions of books have been gifted to children, helping inspire a love of reading from an early age.
Her dedication to serving others is a wonderful reminder that kindness, generosity, and service can create an impact that reaches far beyond our own communities.

We are proud to count Dolly among the Melvin Jones Fellows who represent the spirit of service.

If you missed our Lions Luncheon today, you missed an excellent presentation on the Southern Forest Heritage Museum & Research Center by John Simpson. He shared a brief history and transition tale of one of the most historic sawmills in the nation that showcases steam locomotives and logging equipment from the early 20th century. He also spoke about their upcoming festival on Saturday, October 17th.

Teamwork makes the dream work! This is the third year in a row we have teamed up with First Guaranty Bank and Kiwanis Club of Alexandria La INC to bring joy to a school in Alexandria. Yesterday members of our club visited Alma Redwine Elementary School and raffled off 2 light-up electric scooters with knee and elbow pads, 14 backpacks two for each grade, and donated several boxes full of school supplies from the school supply drive the Alexandria Lions Cub Club collected at the beginning of August.

Help the Alexandria Lions Cub Club go to the Cub Retreat! 🎉 We are raising money for the Cubs to attend the first ever Louisiana Lions Cub Retreat, October 16–18, 2026, at Louisiana Lions Camp in Leesville! 🏕

This Retreat will give Cubs from across our state the opportunity to serve and grow together while having outdoor adventures, service projects, team building, camp fun, and making new friends!
