๐ทHighway Safety Improvement Project Coming to U.S. 27 in Campbell County๐ท
Starting Monday, July 6, crews will begin work on a highway safety improvement project at the intersection of Alexandria Pike (U.S. 27) and Kenton Station Road (KY 1936).
The project will convert the intersection to a Reduced Conflict U-Turn (RCUT), an innovative intersection design that improves safety and traffic flow by reducing the number of vehicle conflict points and lowering the risk of severe crashes.
Construction will occur in several phases, each requiring specific traffic impacts and lane closures. During the initial phase, the right lane on U.S. 27 northbound will be closed beginning July 6 while crews construct the turnaround area and acceleration lane, along with shoulder improvements and guardrail work. The speed limit through the work zone will be reduced to 45 mph.

We'll continue to share project updates, traffic impacts and construction progress here and on the project webpage throughout construction.
Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by Nov. 15, 2026.
