American Legion Post 24, Old Town Alexandria, Virginia

American Legion Post 24, Old Town Alexandria, Virginia Veterans strengthening America. The American Legion’s success depends entirely on active members. A museum and Gadsby's Tavern occupy the other two buildings.

First formed under another name in 1919, Post 24 has existed as Post 24 since 1920. In 1929, WW I veterans restored and preserved the 18th and 19th Century three buildings that form Gadsby's complex. In 1972, Post 24 gave the complex to the City of Alexandria and now occupy one building. We call it George Washington's Post because visiting Post 24 means seeing buildings that were visited by three centuries of American veterans.

Take time to show support often, daily and multiple times a day, to get this passed.

We all need each other’s support. Act now!

"With your support, we can usher in an era of sweeping legislation that will positively impact the lives of veterans and their families for generations."

In his latest message, National Commander Dan Wiley encourages everyone to make their voices be heard by telling their Senators to pass the Take Care of America's Veterans act.

We have 71 days left until veterans lose $20 billion worth of benefits without getting anything in return. The House vote was postponed; however, the Senate is still pushing forward and is planning to vote on TCAVA.

Legionnaires—we need you NOW. No one understands the needs of the veteran community better than you do. Right now, your Senators are paying close attention to what they are hearing from the people they represent. If you support this legislation, now is the time to make your voice heard.

Ask your Senators to Support S. 4744

Too often, Congressional offices only hear from those who oppose a bill. If you are among the many veterans who believe the Take Care of America's Veterans Act is an important step forward, don't assume your Senator already knows.

Remind them that VA has stated they are moving forward with the rule on tinnitus/sleep apnea, and we are going to lose a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make real change for service members, veterans, caregivers, and survivors.

Please contact your Senators—daily if you have to—and urge them to support S. 4744. Tell them why this legislation matters to you, your family, or your fellow veterans. Personal stories are the most powerful messages a Member of Congress can receive.

One message to your Senators—every day before the vote—will make all the difference.

The power is in your hands.
