“Cooking Autism has impacted my relationships in such a positive way.”
Catherine Hansen, a Speech Pathologist, shared how cooking groups have created meaningful connections with students, families, and teachers alike. Students look forward to cooking days, proudly sharing what they’ve made with their families and building communication, vocabulary, sequencing, and social skills along the way.
One of her favorite memories was hearing from a parent during an IEP meeting that their son brought home the communication board and recipe so the entire family could cook together. Moments like these remind us that life skills learning extends far beyond the classroom. 🍳✨
