The troop had their annual winter campout in February at Golden Pond. The scouts stayed in a cabin for friday night and made shelters from tarps and such and braved the cold on Saturday night. Unfortunately, us leaders forgot to take pics of the shelters. All the scouts did well with their shelters and braving the elements, including snow fall in the early morning hours.

Troop 24 participated in the Juniata Valley Council Klondike Derby at the end of January. They stayed overnight in Rimmey cabin with Troop 28. The troop placed 12th out of 40+ teams in the field. Not bad for only having 4 scouts on the trail

Rimmey cabin weekend with Troop 28. Scouts worked on navigation, first aid, and dutch oven cooking. Younger scouts worked on totin chip in afternoon and homemade pies were made.

Our Story

Be prepared to have some fun times with Troop 24. Cycling, canoeing, camping, hiking and other activities await all boys 11-18 years old. Throughout their time in the troop, youth will receive valuable lessons in citizenship, character development and mental and physical fitness along with good leadership skills. Along the way, outdoor skills and opportunities will be introduced as well. So come check us out and start the journey to Eagle with Troop 24. Meeting times: 6:00pm to 8:00pm Sundays at the Alexandria Scout-House on Shelton Ave.
