The power of place is undeniable. The proof is in the impact.

On September 17 in Washington, D.C., the National Coalition of Black Meeting Professionals will convene an important conversation at the State of Black Tourism around the economic power of tourism, the influence of cities, and the leadership required to turn opportunity into measurable impact.

The Power of Place. The Proof of Impact. brings together leaders who understand that tourism is more than visitation. It is an economic development strategy that creates jobs, strengthens communities, drives investment, and shapes the future of our cities.

Hosted by NCBMP, and the African American Mayors Association, the conversation will feature insights from Adam Sacks, President of Tourism Economics, and a distinguished group of municipal and industry leaders:
Hon. Van R. Johnson, II, SPHR, SHRM-CP, IPMA-CP, Mayor of Savannah
Hon. Brandon M. Scott, Mayor of Baltimore
Hon. Quinton Lucas, Mayor of Kansas City
Sheila Neal, CASE, Associate Vice President, Strategic Alliances, Visit Detroit

The right partner can expand your possibilities. The wrong one can cost you time, money, trust, and opportunity.

Meeting professionals have more choices than ever when selecting the companies and partners that help bring their programs to life. But a recognizable name, impressive pitch, or long list of capabilities doesn't always translate into the right partnership.

So what should you be asking before you choose?

At the NCBMP 43rd Annual Conference, Kevin L. S. Richardson will moderate a candid conversation with leaders from ConferenceDirect, hbcuhotels.com, Maritz, and Advanced Meeting Solutions, Inc. about what meeting professionals should evaluate when choosing partners and what truly separates a vendor relationship from a strategic partnership.

Too many leaders are making decisions based on what's happening in their own backyard.

The future of meetings is being shaped by global economics, technology, policy, and changing human behavior. Ignore those shifts, and you'll spend the next five years reacting instead of leading.

This conversation isn't about trends. It's about perspective. It's about preparing leaders to compete on a global stage.

If you're serious about leading beyond the moment, this is where the conversation begins. https://conference.ncbmp.com/

The hospitality industry is at an inflection point.

The old playbook isn't enough anymore.

Rising costs. Changing traveler expectations. Workforce challenges. Increased competition. Every decision carries more weight, and hotel leaders are being asked to deliver more value with fewer margins for error.

That's why conversations like this matter.

We'll bring together hospitality leaders to have an honest discussion about what's working, what's changing, and what comes next. From winning more group business and building stronger partnerships with meeting professionals to identifying new revenue opportunities and creating long-term value, this is about practical strategies that can make an immediate impact.

If we're serious about the future of our industry, we have to be willing to think bigger than the moment. https://conference.ncbmp.com/

This December, we gather in Louisville, a city that reminds us greatness isn't defined by a single moment, but by the legacy you leave.

It's the hometown of Muhammad Ali, and the place where the legendary Black guides of Mammoth Cave helped introduce one of the world's greatest natural wonders to generations of visitors through their courage, knowledge, and leadership.

Be Bigger Than the Moment isn't just a theme, it's a challenge. In an industry that's changing faster than ever, the decisions we make today will define what comes next.

If you're ready to think bigger, lead differently, and be part of the conversation, join us at NCBMP's 43rd Annual Conference.

Registration is now open. https://conference.ncbmp.com/

Opinions have always been easy.
Data is harder to ignore.

For decades, Black meetings and Black professionals have been underestimated, undervalued, and too often left out of conversations where investment decisions are made. We no longer have to debate the value.

The data has spoken.

NCBMP, in partnership with Tourism Economics, has produced the Economic Impact Report measuring the business value of our events in the United States. https://ncbmp.com/email-subscribe/

The findings are clear: billions in economic activity, hundreds of thousands of jobs supported, and measurable value delivered to destinations across this country.

The conversation should no longer be about whether our meetings or talent matters.

The conversation should be about who is prepared to invest where the data says the opportunity exists.

Follow the money. The data already has.
