The State of Black Tourism is more than an event. It is a statement about the economic power, leadership and influence shaping the future of our industry.

Last week in Washington, D.C., the National Coalition of Black Meeting Professionals, in partnership with the African American Mayors Association (AAMA), convened industry leaders, mayors, destination executives, partners and changemakers for the 2026 State of Black Tourism.
At the center of the conversation was the data.

Research presented by Tourism Economics quantified a powerful economic story:

$113.9 BILLION in total economic impact.
578,045 jobs supported.
$48.2 BILLION in direct spending.
$15.1 BILLION in tax revenue.
But the State of Black Tourism is about more than presenting numbers.
