Ahope for Children AHOPE for Children supports Ethiopian orphans infected with HIV. AHOPE is the only orphanage in Ethiopia serving exclusively HIV+ children.

We have Children's Homes including Group Homes and Independent Living, a Community Development Program for orphaned children living with family in the community. While we started as a hospice for these children over 10 years ago, PEPFAR made anti-retroviral medications (ART) available to people in sub-Saharan Africa and gave our children life. Our children now receive the necessary life saving drugs, education, psycho-social support to lead full lives.

Today is International Coffee Day ☕For you who enjoy a good "Cup of Joe", we must acknowledge our most favorite Ethiopian Goat Herder, Kaldi, as it was his goats who discovered the magical red berries. While it took centuries to go from berry to coffee (it appears this happened in Yemen during the 15th century), without Kaldi and his goats, the discovery of coffee may never have taken place! So, let us raise our mugs and toast Kaldi!
