This , we're highlighting Beacon Landing, a soon-to-be-completed 54-unit supportive housing community being developed by Wesley Housing in partnership with The Lamb Center, City of Fairfax Government, and Fairfax County Government.

A safe, affordable home creates the foundation for health, stability, connection, and opportunity. Beacon Landing will pair affordable housing with supportive services, helping community members experiencing or at risk of chronic homelessness build lasting stability and pursue their goals.

Supportive housing works because it combines housing with services that help people maintain housing stability, improve health and well-being, and live independently in the community.

We’re grateful to CSH for their technical assistance and financial support for Beacon Landing, and for helping advance supportive housing solutions nationwide.

Building stronger communities starts with bringing neighbors together.
Wesley Apartments in Lynchburg recently hosted its first National Night Out celebration, welcoming nearly 40 residents and local leaders for an evening of community building.
Hosted by the community's newly formed Neighborhood Watch, the event brought together residents, Mayor Larry Taylor, City Manager Wynter Benda, Police Chief Ken Edwards, members of the Lynchburg Police Department, and the Lynchburg Fire Department. Residents enjoyed dinner with neighbors while sharing ideas and speaking directly with city leaders about their community.
Thank you to everyone who joined us to help strengthen neighborhood connections and promote a safer, more engaged community.

Alongside QUEST and ODYSSEY, Summer Fun Days extended the excitement of summer programming to residents across even more Wesley Housing communities.
These one-day events brought families and neighbors together to share a meal, enjoy games and giveaways, and celebrate the season in community. At one recent Summer Fun Day, children cooled off with water balloons and a slip n' slide while residents of all ages connected and created lasting memories.

🏆 Congratulations, Josh Childs!

Wesley Housing’s Senior Project Manager, Josh Childs, was recently named NVAHA’s 2026 Rising Housing Leader Award recipient! The award recognizes a member who has demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment to both the affordable housing field and their peers.

Josh is a passionate advocate dedicated to expanding access to safe, stable, and affordable housing. His spark for housing began as a volunteer and AmeriCorps building homes with Habitat for Humanity. Today, as a Senior Project Manager with Wesley Housing, he leads development initiatives in Northern Virginia and beyond to produce and preserve affordable communities.

Josh also gives back to the broader housing community as a longtime volunteer with Virginia Housing Alliance, serving on the Calypso planning committee for its annual Credit Conference, and as Chair of NVAHA’s Rising Housing Leaders group, where he helps build community among his housing peers.

We're incredibly proud of Josh and the leadership he brings to Wesley Housing and the affordable housing field. We can’t wait to celebrate him at NVAHA’s awards ceremony this September — and we hope you’ll join us!
