President & CEO Kamilah McAfee joined housing leaders to discuss the future of housing production, preservation, affordability, and stability, while Employment Coordinator Herb Starks joined workforce professionals and community partners to explore strategies for connecting people with meaningful employment opportunities.

Free vision screenings and eye exams were recently offered at The Cadence for residents and neighboring Arlington community members through a partnership with the Prevention of Blindness Society of Metropolitan Washington® (POB).

This year, Wesley Housing is proud to recognize Rebecca “Becky” Cannady of Wesley Apartments and Steffan Rios of Springhill Apartments as recipients of the Doyle Wilding Excellence in Property Management Award, a longstanding tradition established by the Virginia United Methodist Housing Development Corporation. Their nominations highlighted exceptional leadership, resilience, initiative, and an unwavering commitment to the communities they serve.

Affordable housing preservation helps ensure residents can continue to live in the communities they call home. A newly launched Virginia dashboard highlights affordable housing properties whose affordability terms are set to expire, providing valuable information to support long-term housing preservation efforts across the state: https://virginiamercury.com/2026/09/17/new-dashboard-shows-term-limits-on-affordable-status-of-properties-around-virginia/

cities and counties could purchase apartments whose affordability status is ending in order to preserve them, averting the risk of displacing residents if private buyers acquire those properties.

We were proud to host a celebration at Coppermine Place recognizing our partners at ServiceSource and their CARE Mobile program for receiving the Commonwealth Council on Aging's First-Place Best Practices Award.
The event brought together residents, community leaders, and partners for an ice cream social and award presentation, including remarks from Wesley Housing residents who shared how CARE Mobile's services have made a difference in their lives.
Through wellness programs, health education, care coordination, and other supportive services, CARE Mobile helps older adults access resources that support their health, independence, and well-being.
Congratulations to ServiceSource on this well-deserved recognition, and thank you for your partnership in helping our residents stay healthy, connected, and engaged in the community.

This back-to-school season, more than 250 students in Wesley Housing communities received support through Operation Kicks & 'Fits.
Thank you to our donors and sponsor, ZDS Architecture & Interiors , for helping students start the school year prepared and confident.

This new program gave parents and caregivers the flexibility to choose what their children needed most, often new shoes ("kicks") and clothing (out"fits").
Through Operation Kicks & 'Fits, families received gift cards to purchase these items and other essentials, helping students believe in themselves and feel ready to achieve their goals.
