For Ahmet, family is his entire world. He and his wife are raising three young children—two boys and a girl he calls his 'three angels.'

So when a sudden pain in his side led to a stage 4 cancer diagnosis, his heart broke. 'I felt like it was the end of the world for me,' Ahmet recalls. 'I was thinking, I have three kids to raise.'

In 2024, Ahmet was referred to oncologist Dr. Alison Schram, a researcher whose work was supported by Conquer Cancer donors. Dr. Schram identified a rare genetic marker in Ahmet's cancer and enrolled him in a clinical trial for a targeted treatment. Within four months, Ahmet’s tumors shrank by approximately 50 percent.

'I felt like I’m not sick,' Ahmet shares. 'Full energy, and my appetite came back... it's the best decision I've taken in my life.'

Because of donor supported research, Ahmet is right where he belongs: being a father to his three angels.
