We had an amazing experience this summer at The Makerspace at Center City PCS working with our campers! We worked all summer on our Drone food delivery service business to underserved communities! Each week we learned/built something new that we took into our final drone competition amongst the businesses. It was amazing to see the final product of all our campers hard work!

Drive where we donate Bookbags filled with school supplies and STEM items to promote education and an introduction to STEM for students. Our goal this year is to once again provide over 200 Bookbags to students in need. This year we will need both donations and volunteers to help pack all of the STEMPACKS for the students. It's with great pleasure that I would like to announce that S.O.L.I.D.S. is now hiring teachers for the summer! We are looking for highly motivated teachers with great energy to lead our 2026 Summer STEM Workshop series in Washington, DC. The STEM workshops will run from June 26th through August 7th from 7:30 am to 2:00 pm. Teachers that apply do not need an extensive STEM background and will be trained on how to run each workshop for our 4th to 5th graders. We are offering a competitive $60/hr wage to help the future leaders of the world navigate different STEM disciplines. It’s with great pleasure that I’d like to announce this year’s See Better. Do Better. Be Better. Initiative! This will be year 8 in which we will be partnering with the Boys and Girls Club in Alexandria, VA to refresh the garden for the children of this clubhouse. We will be updating our gravity irrigation system, refreshing the planter beds, as well as a few other updates to help cultivate a healthy lifestyle for our students at an early age. We are looking for volunteers for our garden Refresh Day on Saturday, May 2nd from 9am - 3pm. Lunch will be provided. Please see event details and link in bio to sign up to volunteer.
