Alexandria City Top Teens attended the 23rd annual HBCU festival, hosted by Alfred Street Baptist Church at the St. James in Springfield, VA. Over 70 colleges, universities, and programs supporting young, bright students were present. There were over 12,000 students and $8.1 million in scholarships

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month! 🎀 The Alexandria City Top Ladies of Distinction (TLOD) and the Status of Women committee stand united to emphasize the critical importance of early detection.

Why Awareness Matters
Early detection is key to survival. We urge all women in Alexandria and beyond to be proactive about their health:

🗓️ Schedule your annual mammogram. Regular screening can find cancer when it's most treatable.

Perform monthly self-exams. Know what's normal for your body.

🗣️ Talk to your doctor about your family history and risk factors.

Join the Cause!
The fight against breast cancer requires community action. Whether through education, advocacy, or support, every action makes a difference. Let's support the women in our community and honor those we've lost.
