Kentucky Commissioner of Agriculture Jonathan Shell has issued a statement regarding the detection of New World Screwworm in the United States.

At this time, there have been no cases detected in Kentucky. Current detections are limited to Texas and New Mexico.

Happy National Dairy Month! In 2005, Kentucky Senator Joey Pendleton, a dairy farmer, introduced Senate Bill 93, asking legislators to designate milk as the official drink of Kentucky. The bill passed the Senate 37-0 and the House 88-5 before being signed into law by Republican Governor Ernie Fletcher.
