πŸ† Congratulations to Sgt. Shelby Jones!

Sgt. Shelby Jones is the winner of this month's APAA Monthly Photo Competition with a powerful image depicting Soldiers assigned to the 82nd Chemical Reconnaissance Detachment, 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne), establishing a decontamination area during a nighttime maneuver exercise at Fort Carson, Colorado.

The photograph showcases the complexity of CBRN operations while highlighting the professionalism, readiness and lethality of our Soldiers. Outstanding work capturing a compelling moment and telling the Army story through visual excellence.

πŸ‘ Congratulations also to the 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne) visual information team, which has now earned APAA Monthly Photo Competition victories for three consecutive months. An impressive accomplishment and a testament to the talent and dedication of their photographers and visual storytellers.

πŸ—£πŸ—£πŸ—£The Illinois National Guard's 65th Troop Command Brigade recently held a change of command ceremony for the 139th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment at the General Jones Armory in Chicago, Illinois. Col. Jason Carter, 65th TCB Commander, presided over the ceremony where Maj. Patrick Clark passed command to Capt. A.J. Peskuski.

Unit colors represent both the unit’s history and its soldiers' unity. Passing the colors formally transfers authority and responsibility from one commander to the next. Job well done to Maj. Clark and congratulations to Capt. Peskuski!!πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

πŸŽ™οΈ Meet the New Public Affairs Branch Colors and Insignia!!

Announced during the Army Public Affairs Forum and APAA Awards Banquet, the Public Affairs Branch officially unveiled its new branch colors and insignia.

The new branch insignia features a vertical broadsword set against a crossed quill pen and lightning bolt. While familiar to many enlisted Public Affairs professionals as the insignia long associated with CMF 46, it has now been adopted as the official insignia for the Public Affairs Branch.

The design represents the core functions of the profession:

πŸ–‹οΈ The quill symbolizes public affairs and journalism.
⚑ The lightning bolt represents the rapid transmission of information.
βš”οΈ The broadsword highlights the operational and tactical value of communication in military readiness and combat operations.

The branch also unveiled its official colors:

πŸ”΅ Brittany Blue ( ) β€” representing the steadiness and loyalty of our efforts while reflecting the global connectedness of our mission.

βšͺ Silver Gray ( ) β€” representing integrity, transparency, clarity, and truth, the foundational principles required to maintain the public trust.

These updates mark an important milestone for the Public Affairs profession and further strengthen the identity of the Soldiers, civilians, and leaders who tell the Army story every day.
