🥕📦 Closing Out Another Year of Service at Fort Belvoir Elementary School 📦🥕

The Brothers of Psi Alpha Alpha Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. were honored to support the final Food Market of the school year at Fort Belvoir Elementary School, helping ensure military families had access to nutritious food and essential resources.

A special thank you to Dr. Peterson, who reminded us that “It truly takes a village, and we appreciate you being a part of our village.” Those words perfectly capture the spirit of this partnership and the collective commitment to serving our community.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to Mrs. Dolores Elliott and her team for their outstanding leadership throughout the school year and for the thoughtful token of appreciation. Their dedication has helped make a meaningful difference in the lives of countless families.

Psi Alpha Alpha looks forward to returning next year to continue supporting this incredible mission. Together, we are strengthening communities, one family at a time.

Join us on June 8, 2026, for Beyond the Silence, a powerful BYOMM panel discussion designed to foster honest dialogue, share lived experiences, and explore the importance of community, support, and healing.

Our distinguished panelists will bring their professional expertise and personal perspectives to help educate, inspire, and encourage meaningful action. Through authentic conversation, we hope to empower men, particularly Black men, to recognize the strength found in connection, vulnerability, and open communication.

Together, we can break barriers, challenge stigmas, and create pathways toward healthier individuals, families, and communities.

The conversation starts when the silence ends.

🎓📚 Inspiring the Next Generation

The men of Psi Alpha Alpha Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. recently had the privilege of participating in Career Day at Riverside Elementary School, sharing their professional experiences and educational journeys with students eager to learn about future career opportunities.

Through engaging conversations and mentorship, Brothers encouraged students to dream big, work hard, and understand that success is built through education, perseverance, and character.

We are grateful to Riverside Elementary for the opportunity to invest in the lives of young people and help expose them to the many possibilities that await them.

Today’s conversations can become tomorrow’s careers.

A Year of Service Comes Full Circle

The Social Action Committee of Psi Alpha Alpha Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. proudly wrapped up its final Walt Whitman Middle School Family Market of the school year.

Month after month, our Brothers joined students, faculty, community volunteers, and the Capital Area Food Bank to help provide nutritious food to approximately 250 families throughout the Fairfax County community. From unloading pallets and sorting food to assisting patrons and ensuring safe operations, our Brothers remained committed to serving those in need.

The impact of this initiative extends far beyond food distribution. It helps reduce food insecurity, provides families with access to fresh and healthy options, and reinforces the power of community partnerships working together to uplift others.

We are grateful for the opportunity to serve and look forward to continuing this important work in the years ahead.

Service is not what we do. Service is who we are.

🎓 The Bernie L. Bates Foundation, Inc. proudly presented the 12th Annual Scholarship and Graduation Recognition Celebration!

Guests joined us on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at the beautiful Country Club of Fairfax as we celebrated the achievements of outstanding graduating seniors and scholarship recipients from across our community.

This year, the Foundation awarded over $32,000 in scholarships to deserving high school seniors, continuing our commitment to education, mentorship, and community uplift.

Good People Doing Good Things

The leadership of the Bernie L. Bates Foundation and Psi Alpha Alpha Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. had the opportunity to connect with Chairman Jeff McKay and Supervisor Rodney Lusk at the Chairman’s Spring Social.

Engaging with the leaders who help shape our communities is an important part of service. Events like this allow us to build relationships, collaborate with local nonprofits, and stay connected to the needs of Fairfax County.

As Chairman McKay shared after this moment, “Good people doing good things in the community.” We couldn’t agree more.
