DiscoverE's Future City is an international, project-based engineering program that challenges middle school students to imagine, design, and build cities of the future. Over three months, students (Grades 6-8) work as a team with an educator and volunteer mentor to research and write an essay addressing this year’s topic—climate change; build a model of their city using recycled materials; and pr

esent their city before a panel of judges. Along the way students apply math and science concept to real-world problems, flex their problem-solving skills, develop good teamwork habits, explore engineering and its many career options, and become better citizens.
