What a memorable month of May! 🇺🇸❤️

We had the privilege of dropping off goodies and showing appreciation to so many in our community, including Consolidated Maintenance at Esler Field, the 225th at Camp Beauregard, Pineville Police Department, and the Masonic Drive Fire House.

We also partnered with Jessica from CASA to deliver May birthday gifts, enjoyed bingo with RRTP and Building 9 at the VA, and served lunch to VA residents for the Day of Service.

To close out the month, we proudly participated in the Memorial Day Service at United Methodist Church and placed flags at the National Cemetery in honor of those who served and sacrificed for our freedom.

Grateful for every opportunity to serve our veterans, first responders, children, and community. ❤️

What a FULL and meaningful weekend of service and community impact! 🇺🇸❤️

Presidents Linda and Ann had the joy of visiting local schools to deliver patriotic books, reaching students at Mabel Brasher, Tioga Elementary, Ball Elementary, Poland Jr. High, St. Frances Cabrini, and Our Lady of Prompt Succor. Inspiring the next generation with love for our country never gets old!

Friday evening, we celebrated creativity and patriotism at our Art Awards 🎨
✨ Congratulations to Alayna Arnold, our 1st place winner, for her beautiful American Creative Patriotic drawing of her grandfather—now advancing to the state level!
👏 Shoutout to all our Illustrating America winners as well! Students from K–8th grade participated, and several 1st place winners are also moving on to state competition. We are so proud of each of you!

We are incredibly grateful to the students for sharing their talents and to the parents for their continued support.

Saturday brought even more service as a small group joined the statewide cleanup effort to help keep our community beautiful 🌎
🏃‍♀️ Others participated in a 5K benefiting Wounded Warriors, with two of our members registered and running for a great cause.

Thank you to everyone who made this weekend possible: Rodney & Ann Barnett, Casey Guidry, Monica Duck, Cindy Campbell, Caroline Constance, Heidi Wampler, Doris Buelow, and Linda Kieffer.

Serving and making a difference together! ♥️🤍💙

What an incredible month of service and community outreach! ❤️🤍💙

We kicked things off at the food bank, followed by visits to the VA Hospital (including two Bingo days—no pictures to share, but lots of smiles!). We were also blessed to deliver birthday gifts to 5 children in CASA care alongside Ann, as well as provide a box of Easter basket fillers and stuffed toys, pictured with CASA staff.

Our team shared some love with local heroes too—delivering cookies and microwave popcorn to our firemen, and cookies to the Pineville Police Department. We also put together treat bags for Community Living at the VA Hospital.

We had a great time hosting a booth at the Moon Pie Festival, where we promoted membership and highlighted the Buddy Poppy program along with other VFW initiatives.

This month also included our Americanism Awards Program. We’re proud to share highlights from the opening ceremony, including the Pledge of Allegiance and the National Anthem beautifully performed by Darren Kho, along with recognition of our Voice of Democracy winner. We had participation from 13 schools, with 27 school-level winners and 12 post-level winners. We are especially proud to have 1st place winners in both the Patriot’s Pen and Voice of Democracy contests!

A heartfelt thank you to the members who made all of this possible: President Linda Kieffer, Department President Ann Barnett, Doris Buelow, Cindy Campbell, Caroline Constance, Casey Guidry, Maria Saucier, Jessica Waits, Monica Duck, and also pictured—Past State Commander Landry Saucier, District and Post Commander Rodney Barnett, and Slim.

Serving our community is what we do best, and we are so grateful for every opportunity to make a difference! 🇺🇸

What a FULL week of love and service! ❤️🤍💙

Ann delivered February birthday gifts at CASA, while our crew — Slim, Rodney, Caroline, Tegan, Linda, and Doris — kept the blessings going! We served at the Food Bank, then Doris and Linda shared homemade cookies and Valentine candy bags with Youth Challenge.

Next stops: Pineville Police Department, the Fire Station on Masonic Drive, and the 225th — all received Valentine boxes for their crews. 💌🍪

Caroline and Linda also spent time at the VA Community Living Center and Alzheimer’s Unit, delivering Valentine treats and visiting with residents. Pictured: Paul from Recreation with VFW 1736 President Linda Kieffer, and Caroline Constance proudly showing her shirt after a sweet day of serving alongside Linda.

Casey and Silas handed out Valentines to out patients in bldg.7 on Friday.

A special thank you to the children of Palestine Methodist Church for making the beautiful Valentine cards that made each delivery extra special! 💕

Serving our community, one smile at a time. 🇺🇸
