Through a mock admissions process with JMU Office of Admissions on the Alexandria City High School campus on Friday.

These rising seniors are armed with contacts, CommonApp IDs..

And gained one-on-one insight into essays and answers to the oh-so-specific questions that had been plaguing them!

SFA SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS checks are in process. There's a bit of a hush in the office these days. Batches upon batches of both renewal and first-year scholarship checks have been heading out the door since July. Since disbursement began, $1.6 million dollars in scholarships have headed to the chosen institutions' finance offices. We want every scholar to receive their dollars awarded.

Renewals from SFA Recipient Classes 2023, 2024, 2025: Have you renewed your SFA four year scholarship yet? August 25th is the final deadline! BUT THE SOONER THE BETTER!

First years: Any detail left undone?

🏆August 13 Celebrate The Chamber ALX | Supporting Businesses & Cultivating Community 40 Over 40 when the SFA’s Rosie Graves Wiedemer and board member Angela Green keep excellent company with 38 other honorees—many longtime SFA supporters!

🎸August 15 Bands & Brews Del Ray the Bands & Brews event sponsored by Del Ray Business Association with local talent performing at local Del Ray businesses benefitting the SFA!

🐕🏃🏽‍♀️🚶🏿‍♂️September 27 RUN! GEEK! RUN! When every Body including dogs, toddlers and dignitaries can run or walk to raise money for Titan scholarships! rungeekrun.org to register or volunteer!

MONDAY MEMORY… Class of 2022 SFA Recipients and wayyyyy back…. A quick sweep of 37 scholarship recipients over the decades out of the 6,200 to-date! We see you! We appreciate all you’ve given back. Every face represents a dream and a story unfolding through a community of support in scholarships and financial advising.

And as the 2026-2027 school year kicks off this month, we love to hear from ALL our Titans! For the new Alexandria City High School arrivals—we can’t wait to meet you!

The Scholarship Fund of Alexandria is your local nonprofit which exists to make sure every Titan who wants to pursue postsecondary education—career, college, or military, feels supported!

Visit our offices this summer and all school year on both King Street and Minnie Howard campuses!
