Thank you to everyone who came out and participated in our โ€œVaccinate & Educate: Livestock Field Dayโ€!

We truly appreciate all of the farmers, livestock producers, landowners, partners, and community members who joined us for this hands-on training. This event gave producers the opportunity to learn more about cattle vaccine kits, vaccine schedules, safe handling, proper storage, and practical ways to protect and strengthen their herds.

A special thank you to Mr. Horace for hosting and helping make this event possible. Your hospitality and support created a great learning environment for everyone in attendance.

Events like this are important because they provide producers with the knowledge, tools, and confidence needed to care for their livestock and improve the health of their operations.

Better Care Today. Stronger Herd Tomorrow. ๐Ÿ„

๐Ÿ“ขThe Federation of Southern Cooperatives/Land Assistance Fund is proud to announce a major effort to support families during the ongoing government shutdown.

๐ŸŒฑ Over 3,000 pounds of fresh produce has been delivered to families across New Orleans โ€” a powerful example of what cooperative work can achieve.

By connecting Black farmers with local food banks, the Federation continues to sustain communities, strengthen local food systems, and ensure families have access to fresh, healthy foods even as federal support remains halted.

๐ŸŒพ Farmers Are First Responders:
The Federation Deepens Its Commitment to Food Sovereignty Amid the Government Shutdown and Ongoing Crises ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

๐Ÿ“ Atlanta, Georgia โ€” The Federation of Southern Cooperatives/Land Assistance Fund recognizes the urgency of the government shutdown and its impact on programs like SNAP, which millions depend on for food access ๐Ÿฅ•๐Ÿž. Weโ€™ve built infrastructure to address crises like this โ€” because when systems fail, our communities must stand strong ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿพ.

For nearly six decades ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ, our mission has been to be a catalyst for the development of self-supporting communities through cooperative economic development ๐Ÿค, land retention ๐ŸŒฑ, and advocacy ๐Ÿ“ฃ. We remain committed to protecting Black landownership and ensuring our member farmers, landowners, and co-ops have the resources they need to survive and sustain our communities โค๏ธ.

๐Ÿšœ Family farmers, especially small to mid-sized farms โ€” and particularly Black producers โ€” have long been left out of decisions and investments, isolated from markets, and denied the resources they are owed. That neglect is a root cause of todayโ€™s food and pricing crisis ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ๐Ÿ’ธ.

๐ŸŒพ Farmers are first responders. Even in a government shutdown and turbulent political climate ๐ŸŒช๏ธ, Black farmers, landowners, and co-ops continue to feed our people ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿพโ€๐ŸŒพ๐Ÿ‘จ๐Ÿพโ€๐ŸŒพ, often without the policy support or investment their work deserves. Right now, communities โ€” including furloughed government employees and families in need โ€” are facing food insecurity ๐Ÿ ๐Ÿฒ.

๐Ÿค In response, we are in active discussions with our partners, including Feeding America and regional food banks, to connect Black farmers directly with food distribution systems and bridge the gap between producers and those they serve ๐Ÿ›ป๐Ÿฅฆ.

๐Ÿ“ˆ We are doubling down on support in our focus areas:
๐Ÿ’ผ Cooperative economic development
๐ŸŒพ Land retention
๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Advocacy

With an emphasis on expanding market access, capital access, and emergency assistance so farmers can keep producing and families can keep eating ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿฅฌ. Through our Revolving Loan Fund ๐Ÿ’ฐ and Regional Marketing System, weโ€™re helping Black farmers and cooperatives secure financing, strengthen operations, increase visibility, and build long-term stability ๐ŸŒ.

We invite our members, partners, and allies to support us today!
