Space of Her Own alumnae Jenny and Brianna served as SOHO’s first interns. Jenny now teaches 6th grade, and Brianna has just completed her first year of graduate school, where she is earning her Master’s in Social Work. Today, they took a break from it all, meeting for lunch and painting together.

Mentors & mentees were so excited to receive reusable SOHO water bottles last week! They learned about sustainability, like ways to reduce waste & where all of our trash actually goes, made gorgeous customized keychains, & autographed each other’s water bottles.

SOHO Club buddies at Buddie Ford Nature Center🐍 Scroll to the end if you’re brave!🪳

Our middle schoolers & their mentors spent a fall afternoon with the wonderful creatures (and humans!) at .alexandriava ‘s Buddie Ford Nature Center. We learned about animals & their environment, did a scavenger hunt, took a nature walk on the trails, & finished with some arts & crafts.

Our new mentors are truly exceptional. We’ve been blessed this year with some of the most dedicated, compassionate, creative, goofy, & fun women around! After four weeks of training, our Old Town/Chirilagua/Del Ray and our West End teams are so excited to start mentoring some amazing young people!
