Today, we honor —Juneteenth National Independence Day— commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. On June 19, 1865, freedom finally reached Galveston, Texas, marking a powerful moment in our nation’s history.

The NRLCA proudly celebrates the resilience, heritage, and lasting contributions of African-Americans to our union and our country.

Today, on Women Veterans Day, the NRLCA proudly honors the courage, dedication, and service of the women who have served our country.

Women veterans have answered the call to serve throughout our country's history, breaking barriers and strengthening our military with their leadership, resilience, and sacrifice. Many continue their commitment to public service as rural letter carriers, serving their communities with the same devotion they demonstrated during their military service.

To all women veterans in the NRLCA family and across the nation, thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your unwavering commitment to others. We are grateful for all you have done and continue to do.
