UPDATE: WRAPPING UP FAMILY MEAL ALEXANDRIA
Exactly two months ago, along with our vendor partners, we launched a small but impactful effort called Family Meal Alexandria. Our team crafted meals, our vendor partners donated food, and our community contributed funds for additional support, all to offer a little extra help to our brothers and sisters in the hospitality industry who were hit so hard by COVID closures. It was always our intention to continue this effort as long as it was feasible and necessary. To date, Family Meal Alexandria has prepared and distributed over 3600 meals to those in need.
Though we are not out of the woods, today we find ourselves on the cusp of businesses reopening in our communities. As we plan our own path and our vendor partners prepare to ramp up restaurant service, we think this is the time to conclude Family Meal Alexandria.
We could not be more honored to have served delicious meals to others. Now, it's time to move on to the next hurdle for us all: the long and wacky road back to "normal."
