We hope you are excited for the first day of the 2026-2027 school year! Thanks to those who came to Popsicles on the Playground and to the Open House! We hope the first day of school goes well for your student(s).

A reminder below to join the PTA this school year! The donation for PTA membership is a one-time fee and allows you to vote in PTA decisions throughout the year. If you choose to volunteer, you are more than welcome, but we really just want you to be a part of our PTA community!

Thursday, August 20, 4-5pm - Open House

Join your teachers for a sneak peak at your classroom for the new school year, reconnect with friends, and drop off your school supplies!

Tuesday, August 18, 3-5pm - Popsicles on the Playground

Come to the school playground to meet with your new teachers and make new friends! School staff will hand out popsicles and the PTA board members will be available to answer questions and provide information for this year's enrichment and programming for our students!

Students in Pre-K to 2nd Grade are welcome between 3-4pm.
Students in 3rd-6th Grade are welcome between 4-5pm.

To make this the BEST end-of-year party ever, we need your help by bringing a favorite dish, fruit, chips, veggies and/or lend a hand with a few minutes of refilling water/Gatorade jugs, setup or cleanup.

We will be providing Mission BBQ pulled chicken, slider buns, BBQ sauces, and mac & cheese. PLEASE MAKE SURE ALL FOOD ITEMS NUT FREE. Thank you!!

Looking to get more involved and make a meaningful impact at our school? We’re excited to share two upcoming PTA board opportunities!

✨ Community Events Chair
Help bring our school community together by planning and executing favorite events like the Chili Cook-Off, Spring Dance, and End-of-Year Picnic.
You’ll manage event logistics, coordinate volunteers, communicate with families, and support enrichment programs—all while keeping events on budget.
⏰ Approx. 4 hours/month (varies by event)
🤝 Hands-on training provided

💼 Treasurer
Play a key role in supporting our PTA’s financial health. Responsibilities include managing records, overseeing transactions, budgeting, reporting, and ensuring compliance with PTA guidelines.

Don't forget, this is tonight! Join Superintendent Reid for a Community Conversation at Belle View Elementary School in the Cafeteria between 6-7pm.

Dr. Michelle Reid, FCPS superintendent, is hosting several engagement events (including Community Conversations) across the division. These special events are opportunities for families, students, employees, and community members to talk with Dr. Reid and each other about our schools and our future.

This time we will have Soccer from Elite Soccer Academy, Bricks Challenge by Young Engineers of Fairfax, Crazy Chem Works by Mad Science, and Anime Manga for Kids by Young Rembrandts of Fairfax!
