Seen videos of soldiers asking for likes, prayers, or follows? Many of them are fake.

The New York Times reports that thousands of AI-generated "soldiers" are flooding social media. Some are foreign propaganda. Others are scammers exploiting your love for our troops. They look real, and they fool a lot of people.

Our Executive Director Ellen Gustafson told the Times what happens when platforms remove them: "It's Whac-a-Mole. They come right back up in another form."

The best defense? When in doubt, don't like, don't comment, don't share.
