Since the delivery of our first pontoon in late April 2007, Let's Go Fishing of Alexandria Lakes Area has been busy taking guests out to enjoy the lakes. Let's Go Fishing serves Veterans, Senior Citizens, Youth, Disabled, Church Groups, Adult Day Care Centers, Assisted Living Homes, Groups & Individuals, Nursing Homes, and Social Service Agencies. We have worked hard to bring this program to the g
reater Alexandria Lakes Area and to continue its operation. In 2009, we added a second pontoon to serve even more guests. We operate from May through October which includes fishing trips, sight-seeing excursions and Grebe tours. Trips can be scheduled on-line at http://alexandria.lgfws.com or by calling (320) 766-3509. We provide safe handicap accessible pontoons, life vests, fishing rods and reels, live bait, bottled water, volunteer fishing guides and lots of fun! One pontoon is kept on Lake Le Homme Dieu, and the other pontoon is on trailer to access surrounding lakes. Trips are for leisurely rides around the lake witnessing amazing views and the great outdoors, or to possibly catch that first fish of a lifetime, followed by many great memories. The Grebes migrate here to Lake Osakis in early spring from the Washington-Oregon area. Lake Osakis is one of the only lakes in Minnesota where they nest. We take tours out in early spring to witness their very unique mating ritual where they will dance and run upright across the water. Once the young are hatched they can be seen riding on their backs. Definitely, a must see tour! If the trips offered are of interest to you, check out our Let's Go Fishing website to schedule a trip. Let's Go Fishing is always looking for new volunteers and captains. You can obtain more information on volunteering on the Let's Go Fishing website. http://alexandria.lgfws.com or by calling (320) 766-3509
