Our students are hitting the town — knocking on doors, making phone calls, and talking to neighbors, grandparents, friends, and family about Charleston Wrap! 🎁

They have a goal of raising $15,000 for ACCA, and 40% of every sale comes directly back to the school to support our Annual Fund. Even better? If they reach their goal, students will get to submit ideas for something fun to add to recess!

September has brought so much to ACCA! 🍎

Our first month has included things like JK students stepping into their very first art class, First Grade making Mouse Soup, Second Grade learning about the Celts — blue war paint and all — and Fifth Grade pulling out their new microscopes to observe mitosis.

And, of course, there’s been plenty of good old-fashioned recess fun along the way.

Lab coats on, microscopes ready! 🔬🐝

Our 5th grade lab teams had a great day examining honey bee legs and learning about basic cell structures under the microscope. Through science, students are learning to observe God’s creation closely, ask thoughtful questions, and better understand the remarkable order and design found in the world around them.

We are honored to share that Alexandria Classical Christian Academy has been named a 2026 Best in Business Nonprofit of the Year Finalist by The Chamber ALX | Supporting Businesses & Cultivating Community !

This recognition is especially meaningful as ACCA continues to grow its presence in the Alexandria community. In just a few short years, our school has grown from a vision into a thriving community of students, families, faculty, and friends committed to building lives of purpose.

We are grateful to the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce for this recognition and proud to be named alongside organizations doing meaningful work throughout our city.

Winners will be announced at the Chamber’s Best in Business Awards this October. Until then, we are simply grateful to celebrate this milestone with our ACCA community.

There was so much excitement and anticipation on campus today as we gathered for Meet the Teacher, Supply Drop-Off, and New Family Orientation.

The waders are back hanging in the hallway, ready for creek adventures. Supplies have been dropped off, new families have been welcomed, friends have reunited, and students have met their teachers.

See you tomorrow, Kingfishers, for the start of a brand new school year!

That’s a wrap on Inservice Week!

Our faculty have spent the week preparing to welcome students back to campus — setting up new classrooms and offices, welcoming new faces, planning lessons, organizing materials, and attending to all the little details that help make a new school year possible.

As Ms. D. Davis recently shared on the ACCA blog, much of the work of teaching can look ordinary from the outside. But it is in these daily routines, small moments, and faithful acts of preparation that some of the most important work happens.

We are ready for our students. We are ready for our families. And we are grateful for the faculty who have spent this week laying the groundwork for another year.

Welcome Mr. DeWitt, Middle School Theology!

C. Wallace DeWitt serves as an adjunct faculty member teaching Theology to the 6th and 7th grades. As a father of three students currently enrolled at ACCA, Mr. DeWitt is delighted to join the faculty to share his passion for church history and systematic theology and encourage students to develop sincere faith in Jesus Christ our LORD.

Under the direction of the ACCA administration and faculty, Mr. DeWitt is assisting with the development of a three-year middle school curriculum that will trace the development of Christian thought in a biblical, ecumenical, and academically rigorous manner from the Last Supper to modernity.

Mr. DeWitt is a practicing securities lawyer. He formerly served as Senior Counsel to Acting Chairman and Commissioner Michael S. Piwowar of the Securities and Exchange Commission and as law clerk to the Hon. Laurence H. Silberman of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.

Mr. DeWitt is a graduate of Yale College, summa cm laude, Phi Beta Kappa, where he was a dual-major in Humanities and International Studies. Upon graduation, he was awarded the Alpheus Henry Snow Prize for “the senior who, through the combination of intellectual achievement, character and personality, shall be adjudged by the faculty to have done the most for Yale by inspiring in his classmates an admiration and love for the best traditions of high scholarship.” He holds an M.Phil. in Oriental Studies from King’s College, Cambridge, and a J.D., from Harvard Law School, cm laude.

Mr. DeWitt speaks and reads eight modern languages at various levels of fluency. He has “small Latin and less Greek,” a deficiency he is rectifying autodidactically.
