The Foundation for Community Bettermentโ€”Alexandria Bay Chapter We believe a simple gesture that touches just one life can positively impact an entire community๐Ÿ’ง Lawrence River, including: Paddle, Golf and Tennis.

"Betterment's" mission is to make an immediate and positive impact in the lives of individuals and organizations in need. We help create a โ€œRipple Effectโ€ of kindness whereby one act creates a ripple with no logical end. Every July we gather together to host "Community Betterment Weekend." This incredible weekend encompasses several memorable activities for all generations to enjoyโ€”all while raisi

ng important funds to give back to our community. Individuals and families of all ages participate in outdoor activities along the shores of the spectacular St. Volunteers, donors and sponsors help us have fun, give back and make memories in the 1000 islands! Since 2001, our local chapter has contributed over $240,000 to our river community through the generosity of its supporters. Join us this year with family and friends to make a difference in Alexandria Bay!

Today, an incredible volunteer team gathered at the Macsherry Libraryโ€”a place truly centered around communityโ€”to stuff, seal, stamp, and send out 330 sponsorship letters to businesses in Alexandria Bay and throughout our region in support of our upcoming Community Betterment Weekend events! ๐ŸŽ‰

Every envelope mailed represents an opportunity to create a positive ripple effect throughout our community. ๐ŸŒŠโœจ When local businesses become sponsors, they help support projects and initiatives that bring people together, improve community spaces, and create lasting impact.

There couldnโ€™t have been a more fitting location for our team to come together. The library serves as a hub for learning, connection, and community engagement. Recently, Betterment invested in the libraryโ€™s Storytime program by providing a brand-new rug where children gather every Tuesday to enjoy Story Hour, made possible by Hearts For Youth Inc.๐Ÿ“šโค๏ธ

Community Betterment launched our raffles on Friday at Kinney Drugs and again on Saturday at Alexandria Central School District during the annual Community Yard Saleโ€”in conjunction with our friends from River Rompers. ๐ŸŽŸ๏ธโœจ

It was wonderful to see organizations working together for great causes! ๐Ÿคโค๏ธ River Rompers helps raise funds for the American Cancer Society ๐ŸŽ—๏ธ, and our Sweet Lemonade Stand ๐Ÿ‹๐Ÿฅค was a hit thanks to our adorable little volunteers! ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿ‘ฆ
