This week, Bekka Wilkerson, Executive Director of The EMpact One Foundation, shared the organization’s mission to transform the way youth impact the world by removing financial barriers to participation in sports and activities. Through programs like Tuition Assistance and the Mobile Sports Locker, EMpact One ensures that kids are not sidelined due to cost—a growing issue as youth sports continue to shift to a “pay-to-play” model.

Bekka highlighted the real impact of the organization’s work, sharing that since January, EMpact One has helped 19 youth participate, distributed 943 pieces of equipment, and traveled over 1,100 miles to serve families in need.

She encouraged members to get involved by becoming monthly donors, sponsoring programs, or referring families and businesses who can benefit from or support the mission. As Bekka shared, “Every kid deserves the chance to play—and it starts with one.”

1. Seek Out Guidance
* there are way too many things to have to understand for you to be a "do it yourself - er".
*Make sure you have someone who has a plan and understands you and your goals.

2. Keep your long-term plan in mind!
* the world inundates you daily with messages - be smart with your money and don't make decisions based on fluctuations
* Don't get out and get back in - stick with the plan!

3. Don't overreact!

4. Consider buying when the market is down

5. Diversify!
* Make sure your plan doesn't throw all your money into one pot.
