🍽️ What's for lunch at Our Place?

If there's one thing our friends and volunteers agree on, it's this:

We eat WELL around here! 😋

A huge thank you to Koones Korner for catering our lunches and making sure gathering around the table is something we can look forward to each respite day.

The food is delicious, but we think the best part is what happens around the table—conversation, laughter, stories and friendship.

Although...this lunch is giving the conversation some serious competition. 😉

What does an Our Place volunteer actually do?

Well...sometimes it's hard to call it "work." 😉

On any given day, you might:

🎨 Make something together
🎶 Sing an old favorite
🍽️ Sit beside a new friend at lunch
🎲 Get a little too competitive over a game
💬 Listen to a great story
😂 Laugh—a LOT
🤝 Simply be present

Our volunteers help create the relationship-centered environment that makes Our Place special.

And we need more of them.

Our volunteers don't just help *run* Our Place. They **are part of Our Place.**

They laugh. They listen. They sing. They play games. They share lunch. And most importantly, they build genuine friendships with our friends living with memory loss.

You don't need a healthcare background.

You don't need experience with dementia.

You just need a willingness to show up, connect and care. **We'll help with the rest.**

💚 Right now, we especially need more volunteers to join our Our Place family.

This is what joy looks like at Our Place. 💚

There may be games, music, activities and plenty of good food—but what really makes Our Place special is what happens in between.

The laughter. The conversations. The friendships. The feeling of being known and belonging somewhere.

For our friends living with memory loss, these moments matter.

And we feel pretty lucky to get to be part of them. 🌿
