Leadership Lake Martin

Leadership Lake Martin Leadership Lake Martin is a ten-month leadership training program designed to inform, inspire and empower community leaders throughout the Lake Martin area

The comprehensive classes provide emerging leaders with a broader understanding and heightened awareness of the problems, opportunities, and resources in our area. Participants will form a core group of leaders who serve Tallapoosa and Coosa Counties. Each Leadership class will be comprised of representatives from diverse backgrounds representing business, industry, education, healthcare and the p

rivate sector. The program's small, intimate classes are structured for a meaningful interchange of ideas and views by all participants. Class orientation is held in August, and a two-day retreat follows in September. Day-long class sessions are held October through April, with the year culminating in May for Leadership graduation. Participants are also divided into projects groups in which they plan, develop and implement community service projects designed for the betterment of our community. Monthly class days include Education Day, Criminal Justice Day, City of Alexander City Day, County Government/City of Dadeville Day, Healthcare Day, Economic Development Day and Legislative Day.

πŸ’™ Leadership Lake Martin Blue Team Leaves a Lasting Legacy πŸ’™

The Leadership Lake Martin Blue Team chose a project that will make a meaningful impact for years to come at Camp ASCCA! From building brand-new canoe racks to improving access and organization around the waterfront area, this team truly put their leadership into action through hard work, teamwork, and community service. πŸ›Άβœ¨

What started as an idea quickly turned into a hands-on project that will help campers and staff better enjoy one of Camp ASCCA’s most loved areas. The completed racks not only improve functionality, but also help preserve and organize equipment for future generations of campers.

A huge THANK YOU to Camp ASCCA for allowing this class to serve such a special place that changes lives every day. πŸ’™

We also want to recognize and thank the generous sponsors and supporters who helped make this project possible:
✨ Alexander City Independent Methodist Church
✨ Commissioner John McKelvey
✨ C & T Electric
✨ Hawkins Outdoors
✨ Home Depot
✨ John Strickland
✨ Russell Do It Center
✨ Valley Bank

Leadership is about leaving things better than you found them β€” and the Blue Team certainly did that. Congratulations on an incredible project and unforgettable year in Leadership Lake Martin Class of 2026! πŸ‘πŸ’™

🐾 Leadership Lake Martin Yellow Team Leaves a Legacy at Benjamin Russell High School’s Martin-Savarese Stadium! πŸ’›πŸ’™

What started as a group of strangers quickly became a team determined to leave a lasting impact on future Wildcat generations. Through hard work, creativity, leadership, and community support, the Leadership Lake Martin Yellow Team proudly completed their community service project β€” a brand-new Wildcat statue and pedestal at the entrance of Martin-Savarese Stadium at the Benjamin Russell Sportsplex! 🐾🏟️

The vision behind the project was to create a lasting symbol for Benjamin Russell Wildcats β€” a place where players can touch the Wildcat for good luck before games, families can take photos, and memories can be made for years to come.

The team raised more than $24,000 to bring this project to life, learning valuable leadership lessons along the way about teamwork, fundraising, community involvement, and perseverance. From raffle ticket sales for a beautiful Lake Martin art piece to selling commemorative bricks to businesses, alumni, and community members, this team truly rallied the community together.

Once the funds were raised, the work continued with the construction of the pedestal that now proudly holds the Wildcat statue. A huge THANK YOU to our COMMUNITY for supporting this incredible project and to Gene Blair for helping guide and oversee the building of the pedestal. πŸ‘

Now it’s time to celebrate! πŸŽ‰

Join the Yellow Team tomorrow at 5:00 PM at Martin-Savarese Stadium for the official unveiling ceremony and become part of Wildcat history!
