A huge thank you to everyone that stopped by our booth during rhubarb fest. Even with the rainy beginning we had a great time. Always nice to see everyone.

Hoping the rain comes during the night time hours! We'll be at the same place just south of the pavilion in Aledo central park with baked goodies and merch. Hope to see you either Friday or Saturday or maybe both!

Rhubarb Fest 2026…. FEF will have a booth up at the Rhubarb Fest again this year. Please plan to stop by and check out our tent. We have baked goods, pet treats, FurEver Friends Tshirts. We are always looking for new members who want to be a voice for all our Mercer County furry friends. Please stop and see us! Your support means so much to so many!

We need YOUR HELP. We will have our cutest Mercer County pet contest during the Mercer County fair again this year. We need YOU to send a 4x6 photo of your pet to us or drop it off at the Mercer County animal control building at the front desk or in the foyer drop box. See attached flyer for more information

Some wonderful elves (with volunteer help) have been busy playing in the dirt at the county animal shelter. Planters look beautiful.

Have a couple of spaces available for MALES for this coming Tuesday. ALL the FEMALE spaces are FULL!!! We are holding a low cost cat spay and neuter clinic for cats 4 months of age and older on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 in Viola for MERCER COUNTY residents. The cost is $55 for a spay and $40 for a neuter which includes a rabies vaccination as required by IL law. If there are any signs of fleas, a capstar will be administered at an additional cost of $8. Only 2 cats per household due to limited space. CALL or TEXT (309) 751-8484 to make an appointment. If there's no answer, leave a message and state if you want to make appointment for 1 or 2 and a male or female. Calls (texts) will be returned in the order in which they are received. Space is limited. Please share this with your friends and family who don't use Facebook. No appointments are made using Facebook. Call with questions. FVRCP (kitty distemper), de-wormer, microchip, etc. are also offered that day at a reasonable rate. Sign up for them that day at the clinic. Again, this is for Mercer County residents only. If you wish to have your outside cat's ear tipped to show that it's been spayed or neutered, please let us know. Pick up no later than 2:30pm please.

Our monthly meeting is Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at 6:30pm in the cafeteria of the Aledo Mercyone Genesis medical center cafeteria. Everyone is welcome, we would love to see you there
