Alliance for Vision Research has issued a new press release calling on the vision community to take action in response to a proposed OMB rule that could weaken independent scientific peer review and increase political influence over federal research funding decisions.

"The vision research community is facing a pivotal moment," said Executive Director Dan Ignaszewski. "Independent scientific review has been the cornerstone of American biomedical innovation for generations."

The stakes are especially high for the National Eye Institute and the future of sight-saving research.
