Our long term resident Ms. Rumour a senior Sheltie, who came to us when she was two years old, is about to have major surgery to remove a cyst living in her colon. Her surgery date is June 16, 2026. So please remember her on that day and send prayers and special love to a remarkable little girl. She will be starting her 13th year with us in July 2026.

I must say that this year has been a very hard struggle so far.....The costs of having a rescue, feeding the pups, vetting them, getting them bathed and buying the supplements and food that keeps them healthy and happy, has been quite a difficullt chore.....this is why this year of all years.....I am doing more fundraisers in hopes that I can continue to help all the pups that are in my care. I want to take in more Shelties, however, the costs of vetting have doubled, the meds have doubles, the cost of food has doubled, and the gas has tripled......
I am just eeking by with feeding myself these days....so if you can and I know most of us are really struggling.....please think about donating, or coming to our auctions and fundraising. It is so important at this time in 2026.....
Thank you to my ongoing supporters for their kind contributions and help whenever I really need it.....without you all, we wouldn't be here....
Thank you....

Wicka's dental went fantastic. All her labs were finally in good shape due to herbs, supplements and diet change. She did lose about 5-6 teeth, but was expected due to her being caged most of her life. We also found out that she is IN FACT SPAYED, so that takes a lot of worry from us. You go Wicka......

UPDATE: Foster was starting to do nicely fitting in and now he and Caleb are squabbling where I have to separate them quite a bit. Foster physically is in good shape. His teeth are really good, and his bloodwork tells me that he is very good shape. Of course he is 6 years old and should be in good shape.

Ms. Wicka, while fitting in well and becoming friends with KariLouise...she is not so well physically. Wicka has the great possibility of having bladder stones and we just found out that she is NOT spayed and have to make the decision whether or not. As for her teeth, she will probably have to have most of them removed....she definitely suffered at the hands of her breeder and that is a real shame because she is a beautiful girl.

This morning as every morning all the kids gather round to get a piece of their Biscotti biscuit....it is tradition....now we have two more kids that are in line and of course they are last to get their pieces.... Foster, the BiBlack, waits patiently but Wicka, the Tri color is impatient....and moves to the front and snips at Foster when he tries to horn in....
Wicka is quite the girl and very domineering over her spaces...at least towards Foster....poor boy...he takes a back seat to her....

Mr Spot is enjoying what maybe his last Christmas with us. If he stays with us until June he would be in his 19th year. He loves his life and I know he will stay as long as he can.

🐾 Sheltie Fact of the Day 🐾
Shetland Sheepdogs have one of the widest “vocal ranges” of any dog breed.
They don’t just bark — Shelties naturally use chirps, yips, trills, groans, and even “talking” sounds to communicate. Many owners say their Sheltie has a whole vocabulary of noises depending on whether they’re excited, herding, demanding attention, or greeting family.

UPDATE: Spot had his annual dental cleaning in July....Dr. Meg said his bloodwork was great for a dog pushing 18.....kidneys and liver doing better...he tested positive for Lymes last year and the lymes is now inactive and his levels back to normal. Because of Spot's age he gets dentals without anesthesia. That is Dr. Meg's specialty doing dental surgery on animals. While Dr. Meg's assistant holds Spot snuggling up to her, he allows Dr. Meg to scrape his teeth well, and then polish and brush. She follows what the dogs tell her and if he sneers a bit, then she moves on to another area, and goes back to finish. All in all, Spot is so good allowing her to give him a dental. He loves Dr. Meg and the treats he gets after his dentals...You go Spot....
