Apparently news doesn’t get around very well. Last night’s game was cancelled and homecoming has been moved to October 29.

Unless we hear something official we can probably assume there will not be an alumni band for that game either.

Well, here we are again. We know this isn’t the news anyone wants to hear, but it turns out homecoming is tonight. Therefore, there will once again be no alumni band.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise with an ongoing pandemic and a change in directorship. Hopefully things will be back to normal soon and we can get something organized for next year.

Well, it looks like we finally have some news regarding alumni band; and it looks like no alumni band this year.

This doesn’t come as a surprise; with reduced crowds and distancing measures in place. Then there was the matter of bell coverings...

By the way, homecoming is this week.

We hope everyone is doing well during these uncertain times.

Although we have yet to reach a point this year about discussing alumni band, the high school band will be starting band camp soon. A number of precautions are being taken to protect their health, so this seems like a good time to talk about our situation.

Although we cannot say for certain that there will indeed be an alumni band this year, we, as of this time, are NOT saying there will not be one. We simply do not know for certain, but we should accept the possibility there may not be.

The TSSAA has announced that multiple sports, including football, will have the start of their seasons delayed. This, coupled with the question of who and how many will be admitted to games, adds to the uncertainty of any homecoming activities.

We hope to have news in the coming weeks, but at this time Mr. Terry will be busy with camp and getting their show on the field, and anything dealing with athletics could be in doubt for some time, so homecoming will not be the first thing on anyone’s mind at this time.

The health of everyone involved is our top priority. We hope to see everyone later this season. Stay safe, and Go Tornadoes!

The high school concert band will be performing at Maryville College’s Clayton Center on Tuesday, March 3rd at the ETSBOA Concert Band Assessment at 1:45 for anyone wishing to attend.
Admission is free.

The Alcoa High and Middle School bands will be performing their Christmas concert this Thursday at 7pm at Maryville College’s Clayton Center.
Admission is free, but donations are greatly appreciated.

Join us for the 45th annual Alcoa Band Festival on Saturday, Oct. 26th. Band performances begin at 11:30AM. Tickets are $7.
