The heartbreaking loss was shown in her movie A Coat of Many Colors. In the film, a young Dolly sits by the grave and sings a gentle song to remember her baby brother, Larry was born in July 1955 and tragically passed away just four days later.
“A gentle breeze brushes her cheek, moving her blonde hair. It feels like a soft touch, a quiet thank you from the other side. She wipes a tear from her cheek, stands up, and leaves a small, smooth river stone on top of the grave. She will keep singing, and she will never forget.” We won’t forget baby Larry and Dolly.

We’re so grateful and excited to share that Esperanza Infant Loss Support ABQ has received a scholarship to attend the
4th Annual Kassy’s Kause Maternal Mental Health Summit! 💙
This is such a meaningful opportunity for us to continue learning, connecting, and building relationships with moms, mental health professionals, healthcare providers, and organizations serving our community.
We deeply appreciate the work Kassy’s Kause is doing to bring awareness, education, resources, and support to maternal mental health. Their mission aligns so closely with our own, reminding moms that they are not alone, their voices matter, and support is available.
We’re looking forward to being there, making connections, sharing about how we are supporting infant loss moms, and continuing to find ways to reach families who may need a safe place to grieve and heal. 🤍
Thank you, Kassy’s Kause, for this generous opportunity and for the important work you continue to do in our community. We can’t wait to be part of this day! 💙

Today, we showed up for 🤍

I won’t lie… sharing Esperanza’s story over and over again with every mom who came to our table is hard. 💔 But meeting moms who have experienced loss? That part is easy. Loving on them, listening to their stories, reminding them that they are understood and that they don’t have to walk through this grief alone, that is why we show up. 🩷

Today brought new connections, new friendships, and new partnerships that I’m so grateful for. Every conversation, every hug, and every mom we connected with reminds me why Esperanza’s story continues to matter.

We will keep showing up. We will keep saying their babies’ names. And we will keep reminding grieving moms: you are not alone. 🤍

A new school year can bring so many “what ifs” for loss mamas. 💗

My first loss baby would be 7 this year, starting 2nd grade. And my Esperanza would be 19 months, just beginning little milestones like going to Parents’ Day Out a few hours a week, just like her brother did.

I wonder who they would be, what they would love, and what their days would look like.

If you find yourself wondering the same, know that you’re not alone. Our babies are always part of our story, even when we can’t watch them grow. 🩷

What grade would your baby be in this year? Share if you’d like. We’ll remember them with you. 🩷

💗 We’re taking Esperanza Infant Loss Support ABQ out into the community!
We’re honored to have been invited to participate in Maternal Health Day on Saturday, August 15th. We’ll have a table there and would love for you to come by, say hello, learn more about the resources available in our community, and show your support for maternal health and families.
This event will include maternal mental health workshops, community resources, pregnancy and postpartum wellness information, doula and midwife sessions, including miscarriage and stillbirth support, and more.
One of our biggest hopes for our group is that no mom has to feel alone in her grief. đź’—
Sometimes reaching a grieving mom starts with simply being visible, showing up in our community, sharing that support exists, and making sure moms know there is a place where their baby and their grief are welcome.
Outreach is one of the ways we do that.
So come check it out, stop by our table, and say hi! We’d love to see some familiar faces and meet new ones. 🤍
