You are warmly invited to join Artful Life Founding Director, Valerie Martinez, and composer Peter Gilbert this coming Sunday, April 30 at 1 pm at the Albuquerque Museum for a celebration of National Poetry Month. This free (and unusual) event will feature poetry from Valerie's book-length work, Count, parts of which have been put to music by Peter Gilbert. Gilbert will share excerpts from the world premiere of "As the Waters Began to Rise" (composed by Peter and sung by Ekmeles in 2022) and Valerie will read sections from the book. The first ten attendees who arrive after 12:30 can receive a free, signed copy of COUNT at the museum bookstore. Museum admission is FREE from 9 am to 1 pm on Sunday mornings so you can make a day of it--visit the museum exhibits and then sit to listen for an hour of poetry and music from 1-2 pm. Learn more at
