Huge thank you to everyone who showed up for our Walk Audit last Saturday! 🚶‍♂️💨

Community power is about showing up, and seeing so many of you on the ground, assessing our streets, and advocating for a better neighborhood means everything. Together for Brothers is all about making sure our voices—and our safety—come first. ✊🏾

We’re hard at work on the final data, but we wanted to share a “first look” at what you told us. While our Street Lighting is looking solid, we’ve got some work to do in other areas to make our streets truly walkable and safe for everyone.

The Sneak Peek Stats:
💡 Street Lighting: Our highest rated category at 3.21/4.

🌳 Streetscaping & Greenery: The lowest rated at 1.84/4—we need more shade and better vibes!

🚗 Driver Behavior: 83% of you felt “Uncomfortable” or “Very Uncomfortable” with how cars are moving through our space

🚌 Bus Stops: 80% reported low comfort levels.

This data is the fuel for our advocacy. Stay tuned for the full report release where we’ll dive deep into the “why” and our next steps for action. 📈

Did You Know?
In 2024, Albuquerque was ranked the 2nd most dangerous city for pedestrians. Specifically, the 1-mile stretch of Central Ave from Louisiana to Wyoming remains one of the most dangerous roadways in the entire country.
What We’ll Be Evaluating:
Your feedback provides the data we need to demand a “Complete Street.” We will be looking at:
• ✅ Sidewalk conditions & bike lane access
• ✅ Bus stop quality & lighting
• ✅ Intersection & crosswalk safety
• ✅ Traffic speeds
🚶‍♀️ ¡Únete a la Auditoría de Caminata Comunitaria! 📸

Yesterday at Together for Brothers – Leader Circle, we focused on civic engagement through creativity and voice 📸✨

Our brothers worked on their Shot Diaries — a powerful storytelling practice where they capture photos from their daily lives and pair them with a statement or short story. Each image becomes more than just a picture; it becomes a reflection of what they see, what they feel, and what matters to them in their community.

Civic engagement starts with awareness. When our young leaders document their realities, they’re not just taking photos — they’re raising their voices, sharing their truths, and shaping the narrative around their experiences.

Proud of these brothers for leading with courage, creativity, and purpose. 🖤✊🏾 shotdiaries

Shoutout to our photographers working together to come up with this post, Kenji () and Omar!
